Western Australia is huge. It makes Texas look tiny, could engulf Britain and Europe without trouble and dwarfs most South East Asian Countries.

Because of its size it is a land of enormous contrasts from the temperate forests of the south through the arid goldfields of the center to the tropical granderur of the north.
Not only is it big, but it is old, perhaps the oldest land on Earth. Isolation from the rest of the world has left Western Australia with unique plants and animals, some species surving from prehistoric times.

There is a huge variety in this big stage. There are more species of wildflowers in western Australia than in all of the rest of the world. Animals range from cuddy koalas to giant man eating water crocodies, not forgetting the ever popular kangaroos and emus.
The beautiful Indian Ocean coastline runs from the jagged rocks of the southern capes past world renowed surf beaches and fishing grounds, glittering sandy beaches, marinas and pleasure harbours to the mangroves of the tropical north.

You can choose from boisterous surf of mirror calm water while the harvest from beneath the waters provides the state's restaurants with a superabundance of seafood including the world famous crayfish (rock lobsters) and prawns.

Perth, the capital city, straddles the Swan River a few kilometres from the ocean beaches. With no heavy industry it is virtually pollution free and enjoy an idyllic Mediterranean climate.
A major commercial centre for the region, it has a colourful night life, an abundance of first class restaurants, a variety of theatres and concert halls, a world class casino and the biggest Entertainment Centre in the southern hemisphere.

It is the natural centre for tourism in Western Australia, with excellent communications, frequent air links to international and domestic destinations, numerous international standard hotels and satellite port, Fremantle, at the mouth of the Swan River.
